Since Rev came out i decided, just randomly, to go back to a T1 cruisers for "Semi" cheep T1 Cruiser hunting. This thing has a punch but not much on the durability front. It relies on winning a fight then getting clear to a station to rep up! Cyclone is the best ive killed in this.
Highs:
5x Heavy Ion Blaster II's (Loaded with Void)
Mids:
X5 Webber
J5 20K scram
Named MWD (Overcharged Hydrocarbon if I remember the name right)
Lows:
1x Tracking Enhancer II
3x Mag Stab II's
1x N-type Explosive hardener (N-type for CPU reasons)
Drone Bay:
Explosive Mediums - Valkeries (T1 atm cos im still training for T2 drones).
Possable Changes:
Whipping the Tracking Enhancer out for the adaptive nano to boost overall resistance. however I find I need it for close range.
However, with that out i could drop the Valkeries, shove in a pair of Webber drones and put a tracking computer in.
Also to make it a bit more self reliant prehaps some armour repping drones?
Anyway that my solo hunter. not very durable however with a damage mod of 7.596 and a DPS of 310 with drones? I like that.

how you fit a medium rep on that is ******* beyond me. even with AWUG at level 5 i dont get that fitted.  could only pull that off with RCU II's and AWUG at 5! unless QF is ******* wiht me which im sure the new meta might very well be.
however basing that with a small repper it only seems to produce a DPS of 294 through quickfit. 16 less DPs than my fitting for only small armor rep gains!
HOWEVER!
throwing that repper away and with enough CPU to fit another magstab we have a DPS of 331. pew pew!

You shouldn't have any tracking problems as long as you aren't orbiting close to your target.
Blasters + Void = a 2500 meter optimal so coice of sitting still so u can hit and hope your target does the same. or let the tracking mod help out!
btw this thing has killed intys happily crow, maladiction and ranis thus far. aint had a stileto added yet! ill be happy once ive got one of those nifty buggers painted on my hull!

If you want more resists though, put a damage control instead of an EANM. It simply gives you a lot more effective hp, especially without a tank.
As you can see there no EANM on my setup atm. didnt even sugest one. Just an adaptive nano. mostly because that fitting has only 1 CPU left! through if i did use a EANM i would just plop in a damage mod and gain hull and shield resists too. Only reason i have an explosive hardener is simply because is covers up the lowest resist.
however im thinking to replace that. because Hybrids and Lasers only kick out EM, Thermal and Kinetic. Only certain missiles and projectile ammo throw out explosive damage! so why bother and throw in something else like.... another mag stab? 329 DPS anyone? damage mod of 7.811? lol
however i think im gonna try Kyra's tanking rax.

Ill happilly admit that im not sure if it WAS an experianced pilot. or maybe i caught him with a setup he had ment for something else. There was no nos it was Artys and heavy missiles. probabally a distance support setup.
This is the problem with looking at ages now, charaters change hands so aften that you look at 2004 pilots and now go... hummmm
and also your point just smacks of what people used to say about small ships killing bigger ships in EvE's earlier days. back when they came out it was unthinkable that an inty could kill a cruiser let alone anything larger. yer we now take it forgranted that these things are ******* deadly.inty could kill
